SUGIZO with X Japan?!

Hey, what's this I hear of my Sugi-chan taking up hide-sama's empty spot for X Japan's concert tour? TT_____TT
Pleeeease, please please please, come to South East Asia.

In the meantime, "I.V." sounds promising. But.. I dunno. I'm not really feeling it, although the lyrics are hot diggidy awesome (Yo-sama still writes the best) :

(In the rain) I'm calling you, dear
(Fight the pain) Can't you see me standing right here
(Feel my pain) Life is bleeding from fear
(Find its place) I will give it straight from my vein

I'm also unfeeling of the GazettE's new single, "Guren". I just watched the PV but it started to bore me even after 3 minutes into the song. It sounds like their other ballads. Nothing new here. Where's a.b.s when you need them, eh?

Alright, so I tend to be biased these days. I blame Sugi-chan for brainwashing me with his trance remix album. SPIRITUARISE is damn spanking, I tell ya. Go and listen at his MySpace.

Another recommended listen is "Fuyu no Maboroshi" by Acid Black Cherry. I've only experimented today and I must say, the single is really really unexpectedly nice. Yea well, I sorta dissed Yasu's voice when he was still singing for Janne Da Arc (tho their songs were not that bad).

Again, another Sugizo influence. <-- He helped out Yasu before.

Why did I ever divorce him? I'm so sorry, my love~~~

Ohhh and before I forget, Happy 39th Birthday Haido-san!

I've been (Face)book-ed

I've succumbed to Facebook.

The first thing I did when I got home after work last night was open my Facebook. And this morning, the first thought that cleared my sleepiness away was if my pet is feeling happier.

It doesn't help that everyone in the office keep SuperPoking their friends, playing with their own pets (plus minipets) and even racing with each other. Even my bosses.

What a fine productivity-killing-machine.

Wilting away

"Heart of a Kpopper, soul of a Jrocker." - I never thought I'd reach such a bleak point in my life.

My Heart is wilting. Unsustained. Uncared for.

The fire's almost snuffing out. I stare at it, motionless, my mind clutching at the memories; Resilient to never forget the warmth that used to encase the jaded heart. Yet never stoking it. Not once do I stoke the dying flame. Finding no will to salvage it.

A sense of dread befalls me as the fire flickers out.

I try to stop my restless Soul from leaving the lifeless shard of my broken self. Empathy assailing Its cruel judgment to flee.

What's left of it? Gathering the ashes into my cupping hands, a small thought niggles into my head: I am not alone. I still have them.

A cure? No. Not a cure. A balm to sooth the burnt edges. The only balm that can redeem my acceptance of Kpop.

They have and always will be my heroes.

Google-d

here i was, on my best behaviour, Googling for the latest Luna Sea news in CD-Data when:
Capgoogle080109
wow! O_O i made 1st page from such a random keyword.
seeing is believing, dude~ huhuhuhuuu

no one on Earth really knows how Google works (genius as it is) as compared to other search engines. must've been sheer luck. however, seeing other blogs citing purr-fect capitalisation i'm beginning to rethink my foolish 'No Caps' principle. :P

and how come i can NEVER get my Geocities site to creep into Google when i type in my fullname? tsk tsk

Jaya Sect 14 to be demolished?!

Read! The Star Metro, 05 January 2008.

I am surely one extremely ignorant Petaling Jaya citizen to only just realise that my good old hangout joint will soon be a pile of rubble. I practically grew up living in that mall (literally).

Jaya Supermarket happens to be the first shopping complex in PJ (goly!) and was THE place where my father would drag our family to for grocery shopping (back when Cold Storage was still affordable), toy hunting (remember Kathy's Toys? Gosh, that was my haven!), book hunting (my love of books was nurtured there) and then Daddy would spend hours in the music store listening to oldies. During my teens a lot of shops had changed. Of course, by then Jaya was pretty much cursed with ever-changing tenants. Except for Cold Storage (well, duh), the watch shop and the DIY shop which were covered in the news article.

Lemme see.. There was this quaint CD shop when I was 16 where I bought my first Luna Sea album after saving up my pocket money (the cashier was gaping at all the coins and RM1 notes). There used to be The House of Chicken Rice with yummier nasi ayam than Chicken Rice Shop's.. And what about Delifrance? Secret Recipe? Oh, and Famous Amos Cookies which I'd stare at longingly as a little girl.

Boy oh boy, those were the days.

It's said that the replacing slab of concrete will be housing a cineplex. Ooh.. GSC? TGV? Sounds too good to be true. Haha.. Maybe Lotus Pyramid Saimira. What a sure fire way to make the blasted traffic jam there even worse.

gaining through losing

In one zodiac (Chinese and Western) reading I did, it said that chances and opportunities lay abundant in 2007 and decisions -life changing decisions- had to be made for a better future. And I'm happy that I took up those challenges! *pats own back*

Well. 2007 has passed. And what a year it was.

----

The Good
1. Work: Yep. I finally got rid of all my insecurities by getting myself a job.
2. Family: 16ppl in a big loving family. It really grew with the addition of my stepmom with her 3 children (+1 bro-in-law, +1 future-sis-in-law) and my sister's fourth child The Bad
1. Health: Gained so much weight ever since I started work T_T. More stress, more tired and I can see grey hair... >_The Ugly
1. Friendship: (a) Lembu = The Devil Incarnate. The catalyst of all ruined trust.
(b) Lipas = Never trust someone so completely until you're blinded.

----

Yes, I've gained a lot through losing half of my former life. But I raised myself up from that slum. And I sure as hell won't feel bad for the things I had to do to get to my goals.

Carpe Diem, people. Let's usher in the new year with lots of love and hope.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

beneath the waning moonlight

Surpise, surprise. ~One Night of Dejavu~ was shown on Japanese TV! *fake gasp*

Damn those lucky people who got to go for the concert AND those who watched it on their terebi set. I, on the other hand, will have to suffice with the illegal TV-rip version (mwahaha) while waiting for YesAsia to come out with the DVD. If they don't... Then my second choice would be to try my luck with CDJapan *kaching kaching*

The torrent is around 1.6Gigs and was uploaded thanks to Hikkichan from jpopsuki.

There's another 5Gig HD version O_O which will be my last resort if I can't cough up enough moolah for the DVD. hnnngg But it'd be uncut leh.

Anyhoo, I got up mighty early today (6am!!) so I trudged about in naver to look for concert images. Lo and behold:

Luna_sea__tokyo_dome_live_2007__24_dec_2

"Totoro Boy" Inoran is all grown up and looks lip-smacking HOT.

Gosh, he always looked so cute but now that he's shed the babyfat... Amazing how I completely overlooked him after their breakup even during his Tourbillon stint with Ryuichi. And might I add that those two are extremely lovey-dovey on stage? lol. Sugizo must be torn with jealousy.

overspent x_x

Firuzs_decpurchases
i pray that Shinhwa oppa deul will forgive me for the sins i have done. *chews on fingernails* the introvert-shopper in me was caught purchasing several items that may or may not cause setbacks to my Seoul Trip Budget (let's name it STB).

you see, with my STB plan in motion, i vowed not to indulge in materialistic endeavours apart from spending on food and necessities.

now look what i bought within just a period of TWO days! T_T

  1. L'Arc~en~Ciel's KISS CD - it was only selling for RM60 which would've cost a TON if i bought it off YesAsia. i swear i really thought it through instead of just grabbing it off the shelf and running to the counter (who am i convincing?)

  2. CDData November issue - erm, i was feeling a tad excited yesterday frolicking in Kinokuniya's newly renovated Japanese corner. besides, it has abingdon boys school and Luna Sea featured... *feels guilt pricking on skin*

  3. Korean to English dictionary - aha! i need this! i really really needed this. ahahahahaha. -_-

i'm not even sure how much i spent for the past 2 months. God knows what my total savings amount is since i haven't gone to any Public Bank branch yet. clever, Arfah, clever!

mayhaps the splurging was due to the full moon? <-- what a stupid excuse.

before i forget, i'd like to wish a HAPPY YULETIDE to all my beloved friends, acquaintances and oppas *points to those six guys and one other man*.

anyway, i'm in the midst of finishing my new Luna Sea Skin. errrr this was an unplanned skin, and i have like 3 or 4 skins that i should have finished 6 months ago. siiigh. couldn't very well pass up the chance to do a tribute to their concert last night, ne?

Luna Sea covers

Cover_1
mwahahah i'm practically salivating right now listening to the just released Luna Sea Memorial Album - Re:Birth by various jrock/jpop artistes. apart from that i'm also orgasming in my pants for this Monday's concert (in Tokyo, duh) which i'm sure will be HOT.

anyway, haven't yet found a working link to the album. imeem doesn't have the complete tracklist, but i'll find the album sooner or later. uhuhuhuhuhu *skips around in circles gleefully*

--edit; i leeched a link off some LJ comm :P here's what i think about the cover songs and how the bands scored:

1. Dejavu - MUCC
verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars. haha Tatsurou's a Luna Sea fan! The song doesn't run astray much at all from the original. :D

2. Sweetest Coma Again - abingdon boys school
verdict: At first I didn't understand why a.b.s. would use a song from Lunacy (not one of Luna Sea's best albums I tell ya)... But holy smokes~ It's more of a remake rather than a cover song. SASUGA a.b.s DESU!! SPANKING RAW RIFFS that totally shows how truly talented they are. This earns a full 5 stars score! Or maybe I'm just biased.

3. Storm - Nami Tamaki
verdict: Aha. Now I know how this Nami Tamaki sound like. Eh sorry lah, she sooo ruined this song. Her voice is so effing whiny. A real shame cos the re-arrangement with the violins and synths are cool. 1.5 stars for this saving grace.

4. Precious... - merry
verdict: 2.5 stars. I can't remember how their own songs are like but.. OK lah~ so so only. Precious by Luna Sea was fun while this one is er.. too kawaii for my taste. Are they oshare? Or is the audio just bad?

5. Rosier - HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR
verdict: 2 stars. Hmm. Somehow the edge from Luna Sea's most mind-blowing and heaviest song has been punked up but it manages to still become nice. The vocalist is so lembik...

6. I For You - Juichi Morishige (ZIGGY)
verdict: 3.5 stars. A ballad for a ballad :) Wonderfully done piano re-arrangement. He brings out a different emotion from the original. If Ryu was mellow, this guy is emo.

7. In My Dream (with Shiver) - LM.C verdict: 3 stars. Ehm. Disco-fied like crazy. It's sadly similar to Wonder Girl's Tell Me. lol. Are they only singing the chorus? I can't differentiate the different stanzas. Nyeh. They could've done better.

8. End Of Sorrow - YU-KI & DJ KOO from TRF
verdict: She sounds familiar wei but don't think I've listened to TRF before. Anyway, phroar! They made my favoritest song into a tasteful dance track. They get 4 stars.

9. Love Song - kannivalism
verdict: 4.5 stars woh! Wow. Why didn't Luna Sea just turn the song into this instead of the original's unforgivable sappiness? Same arrangements, just a different beat ;)

10. Shine - Marty Friedman VS LEGEND feat. SHINICHIRO SUZUKI
verdict: 5 stars. Niiice. Dunno how to comment. It's just.. NICE.

11. Wish by SID
verdict: 5 stars. They also totally rawked this song like a.b.s. I know only a few people like the original so I hope this will change their mindset.

12. Moon by Masami Tsuchiya
verdict: Haha a veteran rocker doing a Luna Sea song? So random. 3 stars ;)

=> Final verdict? Hmm. I think I'll delete the Nami Tamaki and H&MC song. Annoying leh. The album is after all.. a tribute album. I guess I shouldn't compare and understand the complete meaning of how these bands are/were influenced greatly by Luna Sea (mwahaha).

I'm disappointed that an earlier uncomfirmed tracklist didn't quite make the cut (Gazette!! UVERworld!!). And now there's only 12 songs T_T

1.LUNA SEA -Special Medley-/YU-KI & DJ KOO from TRF
2.TONIGHT/Mihimaru Gt
3.TRUE BLUE/HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR

4.BELIEVE/UVERworld
5.Dejavu/ムック (MUCC)
6.END OF SORROW/メリー (Merry) -- eh why they changed song?
7.DESIRE/Gazette-- ARGH i wanted them to participate too
8.SHINE/土屋アンナ (Anna Tsuchiya)
9.STORM/玉置成実 (Tamaki Nami)
10.IN SILENCE/WaT -- er, scrapped because too Jpop?
11.gravity/土屋昌巳 (Tsuchiya Masami)
12.MOTHER/坂本龍一&坂本美雨 (Sakamoto Ryuuichi & Sakamoto Miu)

13.I for You/Mr.Children

14.ROSIER/abingdon boys school
15.WISH/Special...
