Goodbye to a Decade. Gokurasama, 2009!

Here's a not-so brief recap of my life from 2000 to 2009. No big accomplishments. But I take life as it is (with a grain of salt) and although resolutions aren't my thing, this is definitely the right time for a milestone post :)

My head's merely going with what I can dig up from my weak memory.

1. [2000] Final year of school life. Aah~ the bittersweet times of being a teenager.


2. Death of my love for L'Arc~en~Ciel. It was a joy knowing them but I have moved on. Thank you for introducing me to Jrock, Hyde-san ;)


3. Malay-dominated Matriculation course in Pulau Pinang killed my English. Seriously. So few English-speakers to befriend. Malay songs rotted my brain :[


4. Death of a loved one [2002]: My mother. Al-Fatihah.


5. Shortly after that, I enrolled at UKM studying Computer Science. Another major reason why my English proficiency died. XP


6. But if it wasn't for UKM, I wouldn't have berjinak (sorry, can't find a better word for it) with Korean entertainment. And I wouldn't have met my beloved separate-end-of-the-Pole twinnie Farah. ♥


7. Koreans overtook my heart. I flitted around a lot at first before stopping at Shinhwa and Park Hyo Shin. Hmm actually I've now cut down to only Shinhwa. Even just the six of them hurts my money.


8. Rise and fall of a kingdom. Heart still pains over this. "Gaining Through Losing" is an apt metaphor.


9. SHINHWA IN SINGAPORE! Enough said. *eyes crinkle from awesome unforgettable memories*


10. The trials and tribulations brought us all closer. ILY, Orenji Famili.


11. My slow but sure return to Japanese rock with the help of several bands I call my saviours: Gazette [2006], MUCC [2006], RENTRER EN SOI [2008].


12. My very obvious rekindled love for LUNA SEA [2007]. They were my sole reason I could survive in Penang for 1 year without reliable Internet connection. Although I couldn't forgive them for disbanding, their comeback made me realise where my loyalty truly lies.


13. A 'steady' career working with Elderaan Technologies, if I may call it that, ensures that I have an almost steady supply of Kpop and VK. And no, I'm not thinking of continuing my studies.


14. Har har. So much for Kpop eh? Jaded-ness has ruined my respect for the Korean music industry. Goodbye, fake love.


15. Family rifts. I'm neither here nor there nor on the fence. I sway whenever it pleases me. However, I will NOT end this cold war with that asshole of a person I should be calling Brother.


16. Sarina Abdullah Thani and Siti Aishah Khairazan (+ her sporting hubby). My bestfriends and soulmates? ILY as well. ♥


17. My disgraceful yet verrry satisfactory downfall into Johnny's and Associates fandom. All thanks to KinKi Kids, my newest heroes who protected me from a period of depression during early 2009.


18. Japan. Oh my God, JAPAN. My utmost travel dream came true. ♥♥


19. Visual Kei and Orenji Famili. Highly impossible to be crossed over was my first thought. LOL. Look at us now. We're even holding concert nights :D


20. Two weddings in a year [2009]. My eldest brother and my younger brother.

A lot of good and bad things happened this year. I may have even changed a bit eventhough I'm still generally young at heart. *cough*

I dunno if I'll be able to think up of more because you're in danger of falling asleep from boredom. Guh.

Short Holiday

Yo. Back from Malacca I am. And I've got a throbbing headache after walking in the rain from Pudu to S&M. It was either that or because I inhaled too much carbon monoxide. *massages temples*

Can't think of anything to say about Hyoshin's project album yet. Other than it's a relief to hear him crooning happy songs, the truncated samples don't leave a lot of room for speculation. I'll just wait for the release then...

Anyway, Melaka trip pics will be up next weekend (sorry, no time to transfer them). I was too young when I first visited the historical city so it was great to be able to see them now. Pretty amazing stuff. Nyeh, we didn't go on Eye On Melaka since it was damn pricey leh. wtf.

Got my cd cupboard rearranged to squeeze in my new purchases: Densha Otoko, What's Up Fox and Minwoo's Explore M (FINALLY!). Hell I don't know when I'll be able to watch those but just in case la hor.

Wow. My playlist jumped from a few hundred to ONE THOUSAND! I'm such a happy little fangirl right now that I might decide to rip some live videos to add into the list and I'm not even gonna brag about being top search for Hyoshin-y music (which I painstakingly uploaded by myself).

I didn't know Hyoshin sang the main ballad 'Hwashin' for Junki's new drama "Il Ji Mae"! *slaps myself for being a retard wifey* [And because I'm nice, LINKEU!]

But will this knowledge encourage me to watch the drama? Hmm... Maybe once the box-set is out. The last K-drama (which also happens to be a Junki starrer) is still unopened by the way. :S

Oh, I dropped by YesAsia earlier to find out that Dongwan's 2nd album repackage preorder is now open. Aaaaaaaaahh!!! Moneyh moneyh moneyh. If myshinhwa is opening orders thru Yeonin again I might as well get 3 copies, ne, as the extra two will be for **** and ******. Hikhikhik.

Something's wrong with my connection tonight (>_<)~ Can't download a single thing in Firefox! Although IE gives me slightly better results if the filesize ain't huge. HUH. And here I was hoping to get to watch "Wanted" or "Get Smart" online.

I remember finding news about my hubby and a loooot of money. Finally some light (as in translations) has been shed on the legal war between Park Hyoshin and his recording company, InterStage. Months of suffering under constant pressure and drudgery has amounted to nothing, not even sympathy, but a shocking move by InterStage to further humiliate the harassed singer.

Excerpts from several news reports:

"On Jan. 31, InterStage filed a $3 million [note: 3억원] law suit against Park Hyo
Shin to make up for the 'loss in profit' due to a breach in contract."

"The management company erroneously accuses Park Hyo
Shin of a breach in contract without looking at their poor treatment of
their artist... Of course, the 'heartless' Interstage company did not see a bed-ridden star as a human being in need of care but rather a 'profit loss'."

From fans' comments:

"Anyways, on 28th concert, he did not say much but sang the songs, then
he said he has a lot on his mind and wants to say so much that he
better not start, and that THEY are here at the concert. Well, THEY
meant Hyo Shin's recording company's heads and staffs, who were

Hyoshinnie oppa collapsed during his concert rehearsal (last Friday; a day before concert) due to fatigue and stress. he's still being warded in Shincheon Hospital and it's already been 3 days.

Suju accident + siiiiigh

Suju boys Eeteuk, Hyukjae, Kyuhyun and Shindong got into a car accident! apparently they were on the way home from Sukira and their van skidded then fell onto the passenger side. Kyuhyun is currently warded for fractured ribs, Teuk for a gash on the head (i'm suspecting his hip is the cause of his stay in the hospital) while Hyuk and Shindong are unhurt. T__T Alhamdulillah.. Thank God that they're alright. but this is Teuk's 2nd car accident >_

i bought a lot of Shinhwa last year. i didn't buy their other DVDs, but hurray for me for finally owning 2 Shinhwa albums. kkk. there's also Eve's autographed 7th album. but lo and behold, see that red arrow? five years after my last Jrock album purchase... i actually bought Pierrot's Dictator's Circus. hyung sold it to me due to an initial screw up by yesasia. lol. at least i have a new Jrock CD (so what if it was released in 2006 siiiigh. *twiddles fingers and grins sheepishly*

seen the Levi's Strauss pics? SSH looks so handsome in here siiiigh. i'm seeing a new man, yet at the same time, i'm seeing a much younger version of himself. and simply by watching him, you feel something being evoked from the deep recesses of your soul: it's Happiness. he's just so extremely happy, healthy and confident with himself. and THAT, my dear, is a feeling i haven't seen in him ever before this. the past 5 years he's always looked so tired, and jaded. siiiigh.. i'm so proud of him. *wipes tears*

it's just one of those things in 2007 that you should NOT miss. i never thought they'd work with each other considering they are business rivals with different styles, ya know? heheh. so glad they proved me wrong. doesn't matter if you like Hyoshin or Tei or not, just watch and feeeel. however, my first impression of their perf would be: why the heck does Hyoshin look so meek and colourless (pale is an understatement) beside namja Tei? c'mon man~ you're his sunbae. okay so you completely made Same Pillow into a PHS song, but it almost looks as if Tei's singing with a girl.

i mentioned yesterday in my LJ (my unofficial Jrock blog xD pupupu) about Sugizo acting in a 2006 dorama called Kakure Karakuri with Chiaki Kuriyama and Kato Shigeaki (NewS). nya ^_^ Kioku's CB was good to me because this morning it was already complete. yea~ Sugizo spanks Kioku team! and oh my.. he looks really hot. eventho he appeared for erm a few minutes only, but his character is important to the storyline. *gives Demi Soda to Sugizo* Kanpai!

i was extremely happy yesterday, ya know? FINALLY i managed to grab the April 1st issue of Hype! that featured Hyoshin. squeeee. i think i almost screamed at the shop. ironically, i went to this sundry shop near my house just last week and this issue was sold out and the April 15 issue was already on the shelf. then walla~ i dropped by before reaching home and it suddenly popped out of nowhere. what luck ;D

In last week's Korean class, our teacher made up mad funny examples for our vocab by using our names. && THE reason I fell in love with Jrock. Rurouni Kenshin movie opening theme is Niji - my first and utmost favourite Laruku song. His voice. His deep lyrics. His beautiful songs. What's not to love about him? Then he married Megumi Ooishi. DENIAL. Divorce. Now? Just friends.

2nd Affair and 3rd (ex) Husband; SUGIZO (ex-Luna Sea) [1999-2001]

&& The sexiest Jrocker alive. This was the Walking Porn who raped my innocent mind :D Despite that, he's got a daughter whom he'd sacrifice his fame for. A sexy father-figure *licks*. Broke up because of no Internet connection. Still love him very much.

&& Yoshiki -- This man is GOD. He's the power behind all the great Jrock bands of age (X Japan, Luna Sea, Dir en grey, GLAY, etc) Love him for his awesome skills.

&& Kaoru (Dir en grey) -- HOT. 'nuff said.

&& Yutaka Takenouchi -- Just because.

&& Hisashi and Jiro (GLAY) -- Very short relationship. Sugizo and Hyde demands a lot.

Boyfriends [2004-2006];

&& Danny and Jinhwan (1TYM) -- A short period of time when I started digging rap & hiphop.

&& Eeteuk (Super Junior) -- Because he looks my type.. the pretty guy type.

4th and current Husband; Kim Dongwan (Shinhwa) [2004-... ]

&& The one person in my life who doesn't try to look pretty. Look at the above names! He's the most manliest of em all. LOL. He's a dork, a clown and is a very down-to-earth man. That's what eventually pulled me in ;) He is Love... Shinhwa is LOVE.

3rd Affair, 5th and current Husband; Park Hyoshin [2005-... ]

&& His voiiiiiiice... *sigh* Believe it or not. My first ever Ballad-ist. And once I'm stuck to him, no one else (other ballad singers) can sway me as much as him. Oh and, this time I'm back to pretty-ness!

My walk down the old path

a recent spew of new Jrock singles and albums (the GazettE, Kagrra, & Rentrer en Soi for instance), has revived a flame of passion in me which almost died in March/April last year. one downloaded album led to another and now i'm tracking down full discographies. that is if i can find working torrents who did i start listening to in the first place? well it's a looong story.. to cut the history lecture short i'll just shortlist my favorites:

[1998] L'Arc~en~Ciel; Rurouni Kenshin movie. Glay and Dir en grey; from Jrock Channel. Malice Mizer and Gackt, too. X Japan!

[1999] Luna Sea -Hyde (i want the old Hyde back!!). basically i just fell out because Kpop demanded so much from me.

suddenly, now that i'm older (and hopefully, maturer) i'm hopelessly lost amidst the whole download-every-show-follow-every-video mentality of Kpop fans. it's scary how the scale might tip at any time and unseat my Kpop-fan identity. i love Kpop, i really do. but i realise i don't like to collect every single thing (DVD, photobook schmuck) because i'm content just by listening to music. and break me or waive me, i am still a hardcore Jrock-fan at heart. before anyone counters and calls me an undignified fan, let me assure ya that i still keep Shinhwa and Hyoshin foremost in my heart. but anything/anyone other than them... i'd only manage to get bored with rather fast. ah, it's just me.. i fall in and out of love too easily.

To My Soulmate / Husband #1 aka Dongwan: i want to thank him for asserting such strong trust in his fans. no, i don't believe the rumours surrounding his acting career crossover. once a Shinhwa member, always a Shinhwa member. ne? some people are just so damn cynical and negative about gasoos acting. 오빠, stay as your own true self and never let anyone break that beautiful bond between you and the other members. friends take care of each other ;) and as such, we are here to take care of you in return.

Taffy-ish

what a horrible week buwek-ing right there. then on tuesday, i made the smart decision of eating ikan keli berlada. tak sedar perut tak ok lagi tu.. which resulted in my daily 2-3 trips to the 화장실* when experiencing 물똥** Attack(s). uuu T____T i'm so ashamed to be seen so many times on CCTV heading for the toilet.

siiiigh. therefore, my body is lembik like taffy now. but at least today my appetite is back to normal. hurray to Golden Arches' Chicken Foldover!

er, that was totally random. anyways, everyone should watch this week's Music Space to see Hyoshin's awesome rendition of one of Bobby Kim's older hits. i just love how the studio audience (younger ones at InGa & M.Count and matured ladies AND men at Loveletter and KongGan) of all the shows he's been to will go wild/hysterical for him. makes me want to be there and listen to him live so that i can go all taffy-ish for him too! i'm blardy happy that Park Hyoshin's Korean fans have finally sobered and realised that there ARE foreign fans who are badly in need of fanservice. *pats self* lol. as usual, i rely on Naver Search (i HEART 네이버!) for radio and performance clips that can't be found on CB and i was surprised to find out that:

#1. he guest-ed on Jeong Seon-hee's MTV Sunny Side show on the 8th. (both Hyung and Jeong Seon-hee agree that he looks like Kwon Sang Woo ^^;;) anyways... they were talking about how many friends he has in entertainment, and he mentioned Park Yong Ha first and this name second: K-A-N-G  D-O-N-G  W-O-N !! @______@

talk about surprises. i'd sure like to know how they knew each other and how close they are. ROFL. i think i understand now where he gets his 'unique' styling tips from *points to Kang Dong Won's weird clothes*. then as expected, he mentioned Hwanhee and Lyn. another surprise: Gummy. (> >) i do regret that he didn't say Wheesung, however, i know that Wheesung is much closer to Hwanhee than to Hyoshinnie. i wonder if he's still okay with Park Hwayobi since he already changed managements.

#2. there's also this Mar 7th dated Bobby Kim BoRa (split into 3 clips) that's available for viewing on SBS NeTV where he sang Snowflower, Lost and Miwohaja. hihihi Twinnie and Hyung would be sho excited to watch Lost cos he sang it so beautifully. found Mgoon links for Snowflower and Miwohaja but am still hunting for Lost. wait for that one, k?

#3. Mgoon finally led me to a fancam of MC Mong's showcase of their only performance of 'Gido' together. don't know the date for this but must be around the time of Mong's album release. yeee they look quite buddy-buddy with each other. and Mong is close to Dongwan! soooo... *cough cough*

yesh. yesh. my Love-Affair is slowly opening up his personal life now, right? he was really secretive before this. *sigh* his Pursuit for Happiness seriously did him good. maybe he's gotten a girlfriend ;(

my 2nd hubby, Park Hyoshin, has just graduated with a Degree (i don't think it's Diploma) in Art & Design from Kyung Hee University! Hyoshinnie oppa, chukhahaeyo~!



aww i didn't even know he had spent the last 3-4 years to finish his studies. honestly, before this when i read his profiles everywhere else.. i thought he'd dropped out from Uni, but it seems that he was doing his degree via part-time/jarak jauh. which explains the looong MIA period in the whole of last year. i guess he took time off to finish his final year? and even during his currently mad tight of a schedule (you should go see his activity planner on his official site, February is really packed!) with his comeback performances and appearing on so many radioshows, he diligently came for his convo ^_^ although a little late. *thumps Hyoshin heartilly on the back* he's sucha good boy, ain't he? Oppa, if you could only know how proud i am with you. *sniff sniff*

Hyoshin came to the majlis quite late and he sat beside Jung Junho (actor; twinnie's former ahjusshi) and Park Tae Hee (Yoon Band's bassist). here's a YTN vod showing 'em talking about each other. i don't know what pakcik Jung Junho said about Hyoshin, coz i doubt he actually kenal him >_Look! He's so darned handsome!

During a damn radio broadcast, ok!! pulak tu dapat shake hand, dapat dengar dia nyanyi depan mata, dapat BELAJAR nyanyi dari dia, dapat duduk minum dengan dia~~~~~~~~~ *RAAAAAAGES*

if my Sad Angel sang right infront of my eyes, i'd most definitely faint. or cry. plus, my hands wouldn't remain idle by my side. like these 2. my hands ah.. they'll be absently running up and down his body. lol. but yeah~ i can see them spazzing and melting there already listening to his deep shexy voice! *stabs* MWAHAHAHAHAboohoohoo.
